A couple weeks ago I found the recipes for Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub and Vanilla Brown Sugar Scrub which I made for a couple of girlfriends and family for Christmas. I'm using it for weeks now and really love it.

You will need:

Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub
2 Cups of Brown Sugar
1 Cup of Granulated Sugar
2 Tablespoons of Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 Cup + 1 Tablespoon of Vegetable Oil

Vanilla Brown Sugar Scrub
2 Cups of Brown Sugar
1 Cup of Granulated Sugar
1 Cup of Vegetable Oil and 1 Tablespoon of Pure Vanilla Extract.

Mix Brown Sugar, Granulated Sugar and Pumpkin Pie Spice/Vanilla Extract together

Add in oil and mix well

I bought sealed glass containers from IKEA

and filled them with the mixture

Labeled every single container and put a bow around it

A very easy way to have skin, smooth as a baby.

Girls Quilt

I'm in love with my god child Carla. She will turn two in February. Sad thing is, I can only see her a couple times a year since she lives in Germany. To have something special for her, I decided on making a quilt. I still have a lot of leftover fabric from New York, which I collected from exhibitors when they had already left the building after the show had closed.

I cut a lot of pinkish fabric in squares and laid them out on the batting which is about 90cmx200cm.

After laying it all out, I didn't like it at all! I decided to buy more fabric...
I found some really cute girls dresses, cut them in little squares and sewed it all together.

The dress had white/yellow flowers and bows on it. After cutting all of those out, I sewed them to my new little squares.

Sewed on the bows.

Stitched a stem to the flower
Handstitched buttons

Can you see it?
C a r l a

and of course a flower!

Here is the top part of the quilt

pink and white dotted fabric and pink fabric with white dots and monkeys.

Sewed on a butterly and handstitched its tail and antenna
attached another little yellow bow

a little white flower (which was also on the little girls dress)

Here is the middle and bottom part of the quilt

  a butterly with buttons

The completed quilt in its various shades of pink

after the front side was done...

I pinned the fabric to the batting and turned it over,
so that the batting was on top.
I sewed leftover monkey and white dotted fabric together, so that it was the same width and length as the front.

Pinned bot sides to the batting

and sewed it together

after the outer sides were all attached to the batting, I took light pink satin blanket binding; wrapped it around both sides and pinned it together.

I sewed all four sides to the binding and here it is, my first quilt

Merry Christmas little Carla!
I hope you can play on it, sleep under and have wonderful dreams.
I love you!
