Our Engagement Shoot

Image
Our wedding is 130 days away! It seems like a very long time to go, but it really isn't. One thing we got taken care of - our engagement shots. It was so much fun, 4 hours on the farm of our photographer with chickens, horses, cats, dogs..   When we had the date set, I started thinking about what kind of pictures I would like to have. I started painting some props and went through decorations/games in our house.   We had 2 photographers, 3 cameras and in 4 hours they took 3,600 pictures! Narrowed down to 1,600 and I was then in charge of picking my favorite 50. I selected 300! :) Here is a collection of just a few of them.   We started in the studio inside.         Changed outfits     Then went outside to find Toby and Steele digging huge holes. (Don't listen to her, we didn't do it!)       I got the chalkboard from Good Wi...

Eye Chart

Trying to figure out our wide open living room space and bare walls. Brian still doesn't want to put holes into the walls which makes it difficult to decorate. When we had a contractor over a couple months back they dropped off two 2'x8' plywood sheets by mistake and never picked them up. I was a little upset first before I realized that I can make signs out of them. I was one happy girl. We carried those huge very heavy boards inside and I forgot about them until recently. I saw so many eye charts floating around on the web and wanted to make one as well. Having a hard time figuring out what to write since it needs to fit perfectly in the rows  1 22 333 4444 55555 666666 7777777  Finally I came up with our birthdays, who needs letters anyways.  Numbers are the new letters. Brian, me, Steele and Toby (the dogs of course are part of this)   The complete board was covering up our dining room table...

How to ask the girls

Planning a wedding is most of the times very stressful, with so much to do you might loose your mind and just very expensive if you dont find a way to trick it. What makes me relax, is crafting. Lots of it. I started with creating cards and envelopes to ask my girlfriends and sister to be my bridesmaids/maid of honor.   By the time I did those cards, I haven't had a thought about our color scheme for the wedding. Funny that those two colors though made it to the final.     With my Silhouette I cut 12x12 sheets of swirly grey paper and folded then glued the envelopes together. Easy peasy       I bought a cute wedding dress picture at the Silhouette online store months prior to being engaged... I did a wedding card for a friend of mine.     I cut the wedding dress out and glued it onto the card which is heavier card stock in purple/white Cut some swirly little design on the side and ...

Mirror mirror on the wall

Image
Couple mornings ago, while walking our two doggies we saw this cool mirrow on the side of the street. Our neighbors are trying to sell their house and had some furniture outside. When we came back I quickly grabbed the mirrow and took it home. I wanted to make sure nobody else has the chance to see it. It was seven in the morning and luckily no one else was out yet. The mirrow was from Pier One still had the price of $150.00 on the back. Very happy with my find I stuck blue painters tape on the wicker part of it and newspaper on the mirror itself. Patching the little broken side of it with wood filler.   Then I took of the hooks and sanded the frame of the mirror.   After it was all sanded down, I took a spray can of white primer and did two coats, let it dry then sprayed two more coats of white satin paint on. Oh I'm so happy how it turned out. Screwing the hooks back on and ha...
