Upgraded Picture Frames

Image
Blockbuster, late at night and I found 2 picture frames for 1$ each. Not bad I say. I wanted to have some popping color on them and decided on a really nice green tone. But when they were dry, it just wasn't me. I'm not a bright color kind of person and mixed another color together. A blue-ish grey type.                                       After both were painted and dry I looked for images of vintage scissors and sewing machines on the web. I then selected scrapbook paper and cut out the center part to include my picture and hung both of them in my craft room.   Voila an easy update to some cheap picture frames and a new addition to my craft room. ATLANTA SUBWAY ART

Image
It is time to finally post about my first ever subway art. I actually made this a year ago but never really got to post about it. This sign has its home in our guest bedroom and is accompanied by the new sign "The Ornaments of a house..." I  bought a sheet of plywood, painted the complete board dark brown, after it was dry, I laid out letter stencils in two different sizes, marking lines with a pencil where everything should go. I started penceling all letters on the board. After everything looked good and in line, I painted all letters in white on the board (It would have been so much easier, if I'd had my Silhouette by the time) But old school it is. It took several hours,  but I'm very pleased with the end result. (Unfortunately there are no pictures from the paint progress)     ...

Fabric Covered Pinboard

Image
Couple weeks ago I found a pinboard at Blockbuster for sale for $10. I always wanted to create a mood board for my craft room and just picked it up and took it home. There is was sitting and waiting for me to work on it for several weeks. And finally I came up with an idea since it is way to boring to put it up like that. I took out my boxes of fabric swatches and sewed beige colored squares together. I then layed it on top of the pin board to see if it fits and sprayed adhesive on the board When everything was dry I hammered some decorative silver pins on the sides folded the leftover fabric to the backside, and glued it on. Now there is space for all my planned projects, my Blog Calendar to keep up with postings and some more I'm linking up to:
