Deep in the Woods

THE BIG DAY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED   We closed on our cabin last Friday - and Good Friday has become another meaning.   Over this cabin, I had sleepless nights, my hair became grey and we were on a roller coaster every single day.   How it all begun. We were thinking of buying a cabin in the mountains for a nice weekend getaway option, where we could take our two doggies with us. The beach always sounds fun but its an at least 5 hour drive and most places don't allow dogs. The Blue Ridge area is about 2 hours away from us and has so many things to offer. Hiking trails, water falls, a river and a lake a very cute downtown, lots of festivals and would be perfect for the four of us to spend quality time together.    We drove up there one Saturday and with our agent looked at about 10 cabins. Our First Auction

Have you been part of on auction before? A couple weeks ago a friend of mine sent me a link for an ongoing auction. Scrolling through hundreds of furniture, glass- and silverware I got Brian hooked on it. The auction closed at noon on Thursday and we were highest bidders for 13 items.     What are we going to do with all of those furniture was my question. We haven't even closed on our cabin yet.   On Saturday we had to be there at 10am to pick everything up. Thankfully we had another helping hand with us and a U-Haul to get all that stuff home. We got there right on time and were number three to go into the house to pack up. What we didn't know is that only two buyers could go in at the same time. The line got longer and longer.
