Happy New Year

We arrived last night in Montreat NC to spend New Years with some friends in their mountain house.

Wing Chair Recovery - Part II

Only for those of you who already forgot how the wing chair looked when I first got it, here is a picutre which I took in the thrift store! For the amazing price of $18 it is all mine.   Too nasty to sit in, I first ripped off all of the fabric, (I'll spare you the details, since I blogged about that before ) layed the old fabric out, cut the new fabric pieces a little bigger than the old ones and made little fabric piles. I bought about 9' of fabric online at http://www.fabric.com/  I kept all of the old buttons, cut little circles and sewed fabric on each of them. I can tell you, that was my least favorite part.    After all 27 buttons were done, the back seat was the first piece that I re-buttoned.   The buttons go all the way through the fabric and cushion - the back part gets spread apart and rests on the foam. The Nursery - Final reveal

  I know you couldn't wait any longer to find out if we are going to have a boy or girl. I don't keep it any longer from you, I promise.   Both of us wanted a boy, but really just a healthy little baby is all we asked for.   Since I don't count to the younger childbearing generation anymore, there were some tests that I had to do. One of them is for down syndrome. Scary stuff, let me tell you. With that test though, you can find out the gender and when I received the call with the results, I immediately started crying. Happy and over the moon that the baby is completely healthy but totally in shock that it is a.... CAN YOU SAY BOY???   No wonder I have hair growing like crazy in my face, all this testosterone in me probably doesn't help the weirdest pregnancy outcomes. So Close

We were so close to receiving Brians wedding band this week. Last Saturday we finally picked out a ring for him, but because they didn't have it in the right size they needed to ship it to us. All week I was expecting the UPS truck to stop at our house and finally yesterday I saw it parked in front ouf our house, the guy already at the door while I was still in the car. I'm quickly getting home, parking in the garage, wondering what Toby and Steele are up to.    I already hear both of them running back and forth, barking and going wild, seeing their favorite person, the UPS man, in the window of our front door.     Of course the minute I get to the door the guy has already left. Opening the door, I see him, and wanted to get a hold of him. Unfortunately he got in his truck and drove away, but didn't close the baby gate on our front porch. SO Toby sprints out, there is no way I can reach him and he just runs across the street...
